 !"#$%&$   '!"#$% &$ (''$ ******* KARAMJIT SINGH, J.(Oral) Petitioners are praying for direction to respondents No.2 & 3 to provide protection to their life and liberty from the hands of private respondents No.4 to 6.

In the petition, it has been stated that both the petitioners are into live-in-relationship which has been opposed by private respondents No.4 to 6 who are related to petitioner No.1. 3.

Counsel for the petitioners inter alia submits that petitioner No.1 got married to Subhash Chand and is having two children namely respondent No.4 and 5 out of said wedlock. Her husband Subhash Chand left the house about 11 years back and his whereabouts are not known. That presently petitioner No.1 has started living with petitioner No.2

) a widower, with her own free will and consent against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 6. That the said respondents are extending threats to cause harm to the petitioners. To this effect petitioners have already submitted their representation dated 20.12.2024 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 but the police authorities failed to take any action against the said private respondents to safeguard the life and liberty of the petitioners.

! ! *+ accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 and submits that in case any such representation submitted by the petitioners is pending, the same will be looked into and decided by competent authority as per law, at the earliest. 6.

In view of above, without expressing any opinion with regard to status of the relationship which is being maintained by petitioners No.1 and 2, the present petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar City to consider and decide representation dated 20.12.2024 (Annexure P-3) submitted by the petitioners in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 7.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion regarding the validity of the relationship between the petitioners. It is also made clear that respondents No.4 to 6 are at liberty to avail appropriate remedy available to them

, under law against the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
