(ORAL) The petitioner alleges violation of the order dated 05.01.2012, vide which a direction was issued to the respondents to consider claim of the petitioner for promotion as Assistant Registrar retrospectively within some specified time and if found eligible, consequential benefits be also released. This petition is pending since 2012 and the petitioner, who was appearing in person, has stopped appearing, after 22.03.2022 and no one is representing him. Despite note by the registry that he has been telephonically informed for 12.05.2022, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. COCP-1461-2012 -2of Punjab, Cooperation Department, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab has already passed a speaking order on 19.06.2022 and thereafter, another order was passed by the Financial Commissioner Cooperation, Punjab, Chandigarh on 22.06.2012. As per the speaking order, SLP was pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court to determine the seniority of the petitioner in the cadre of Inspectors.

Learned State counsel, assisted by Vandana Vashisht, SSA, has placed on record copy of the order dated 19.04.2021, which was passed, after decision of SLP, by refixing the seniority of the petitioner. Accordingly, nothing survives in the present petition and the same is rendered as infructuous.

Liberty is granted to the petitioner to avail the alternative remedy, in accordance with law, if so required.
