Petitioners filed CWP 18759/2015 seeking modification of the awards passed by the Land Acquisition Tribunal, Improvement Trust,Bathinda with a further direction for enhancement of compensation of their land in terms of judgment dated 10.3.2014 passed by this Court in CWP 3603/2012 (Nachattar Singh and others v State of Punjab and others) whereby compensation in the case of other land owners whose land was also acquired alongwith that of petitioners for development of "16.44 Acres Scheme" was enhanced. The said writ petition was disposed of vide order dated 10.8.2016 holding petitioners entitled for statutory interest on the enhanced amount of compensation only from 1.1.2016 as they had filed the writ petition in the last week of August 2015. COCP 141/2017 Now instant contempt was filed alleging disobedience of directions issued in the said order dated 10.8.2016. At the time of hearing,learned counsel for the petitioners states that the necessary action in terms of order dated 10.8.2016 has been taken by the respondents and hence petitioners are no longer interested to pursue the instant contempt but would like to avail the remedy of execution proceedings.

In view of the above,present contempt is dismissed as withdrawn.
