***** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) Present petition has been filed as petitioner alleged violation of judgment of Hon'ble the Supreme Court rendered in 'Lalita Kumar versus Govt. of U.P. and ors., 2008(7) SCC 164'.

During the course of the petition, a question arose whether the Bureau of Investigation constituted by the State of Punjab is fully functional. Ms. Rita Kohli, Addl.A.G., Punjab, has submitted on instructions from Ms. Vibhu Raj, IPS, IGP/EOW (Technical), Punjab, that the matter is being looked into by the DGP office in consultation with the Home Department. Certain remaining issues are being examined to ensure that the Bureau becomes functional at the District and Sub Divisional Level as well. Needful shall be done at the earliest.
