The petitioner-Society filed a writ petition raising grievance against commercial circular No.41 of 2018 whereby supply of free electricity to the registered Gaushalas in Punjab was denied. The grievance raised was that the State was collecting Cow cess yet such a circular has been issued. The writ petition was disposed of 12.10.2018 directing that a Committee of Chief Secretary, Government of Punjab and the Chairman, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited shall look into the matter and take appropriate decision. COCP No.145 of 2019 -2is taken, recovery of pending dues shall not be effected from the registered Gaushalas. The petitioner was granted liberty to seek redressal after the decision of Committee, in case of grievance. The contempt petition is filed pleading that needful has not been done by the Committee.

Learned counsel for the respondents has produced order dated 04.12.2019 whereby the Writ Court gave another four months for doing the needful.

It is re-assured that till the decision is taken, undertaking given in the Writ Court with regard to recovery of dues shall be adhered to.

Considering the above fact that now the Committee has time of another four months, the contempt petition is disposed of at this stage.
