NIRMALJIT KAUR, J. (ORAL) On 20.03.2018, request for adjournment was made by learned counsel for the petitioner. Then another request for adjournment was made on 10.08.2018. Thereafter written request for adjournment was made on 07.12.2018. Today, learned counsel appearing for the arguing counsel for the petitioner also prays for adjournment, whereas learned counsel for the respondent has pointed out that the reply has already been filed stating therein that the petitioner has since got married and, therefore, has also given up her claim to the maintenance. The respondent was liable to pay only `5,000/- towards minor child and `1,40,000/- which is the arrears has since been paid. Moreover, the reply was filed on 21.07.2016 and the petitioner has not filed any rejoinder till date.
In view of the above, contempt petition is dismissed. The rule issued against the respondent(s) stands discharged. March 14, 2019 ( NIRMALJIT KAUR ) meenuss JUDGE 1.
