*** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioners argues that the payments of the overtime allowance, which the petitioners were entitled for while they were in service, have only been released to them after their retirement in the year 2018 and therefore, keeping in view the law laid down by this Court in CWP No.15306-2016 titled as 'Hari Ram and others Vs. Pepsu Road Transport Corporation Nabha Road, Patiala', decided on 04.09.2017 (Annexure P-3), petitioners are entitled for the grant of interest on the said payments. The prayer of the petitioenrs for directing the respondent to grant them the benefit of interest keeping in view the direction of this Court in Hari Ram's case (supra). Counsel for the petitioners states that for the relief, which is being claimed in the present writ petition, petitioners have served the NARESH KUMAR 2020.01.16 17:17 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP-431-2020 -2respondent with a legal notice dated 30.04.2018 (Annexure P-6), which is still pending consideration with the respondent and the petitioners will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to the respondent to decide the said legal notice.

In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioners, the respondent is directed to decide the legal notice dated 30.04.2018 (Annexure P-6) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. In case after the decision, it is found that the petitioners are entitled for any monetary benefit, the same shall also be released to them within a period of next three months.

Present writ petition stands disposed of.
