JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The claim of the petitioner for appointment as English Mistress in the Education Department (Sr. Secondary), Punjab by considering her as a Backward Class candidate and her secured merit in the selection process to the Advertisement in 2012 was allowed by this Court vide order dated 05.2.2016 with a direction for issuance of an appointment letter and consequential benefits from the date of petition including full salary and allowances apart from inter se seniority based on her merit position. Upon notice, learned State counsel, on instructions from Sh. Sarabjit Singh, Legal Assistant O/o DPI (SE), Punjab, submits that the petitioner has been appointed vide order dated 06.9.2016 and has been released arrears of salary w.e.f the date of filing of writ petition bearing CWP No.216 of 2015 decided on 05.2.2016. It is alleged that a sum of Rs.1,45,548/- has been released and credited to the account of the petitioner.

COCP No.1674 of 2016 #2# In response, learned counsel for the petitioner accedes that no further action is warranted in this case. As a sequel of what has been stated above, present petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous and the Rule is discharged.
