IN THE HIGH COURT FOR THE STATES OF PUNJAB AND
HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH COCP No.1696 of 2014 Date of Order: 23.03.2017 Gurmukh Singh ....Petitioners
Versus
Jasbir Singh and Ors.
....Respondents CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE JASWANT SINGH
Present:
Mr. Atul Kaushik, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Anant Kataria, DAG, Punjab.
Mr. N.K. Banga, Advocate.
JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner, who is resident of Phillaur, District Jalandhar, alleges that the officials of Municipal Council, Phillaur have not removed the encroachments inspite of directions issued by learned Division Bench of this Court on 06.4.2011. Learned counsel for the respondents states that a similar contempt petition with identical allegations was earlier filed, which was disposed of vide order dated 18.5.2012 (P.4) as it was found that the steps in the right earnest had been initiated by the Municipal Council, Phillaur and only the cases of such encroachers had not been filed, who had obtained "status quo" from different courts and similar position is existing as on today. In view of the above, no further action is warranted and thus the present petition is dismissed and the rule is discharged. March 23, 2017 (JASWANT SINGH) manoj JUDGE Whether speaking/reasoned:
