Since retiral dues of petitioner despite his acquittal in a criminal case were not being released, he filed CWP 9683/2007. The said petition was disposed of vide order dated 10.2.2016 with a direction to respondents to decide his legal notice dated 18.5.2007 and pass appropriate orders. The needful was to be done within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. In the instant contempt, disobedience of said order dated 10.2.2016 has been alleged.

Upon notice, reply by way of affidavit of Gopal Krishan Singh,Director, Rural Development and Panchayats,Punjab has been filed. In paras 3 to 5 of the reply, complete details of dues released to the petitioner alongwith interest have been furnished.
