Notice of motion.
On the asking of court, Mr. Aditya Sharda, AAG Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.
Petitioner alleges violation of order dated 22.08.2017 passed by writ court. Operative part thereof reads as under:- "Without even ascertaining the correctness of the averments made in the petition and without making any observations on the merits of the claim, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to respondent no. 2 i.e. The Director Public Instructions (Secondary Education), State of Punjab, to examine the claim of the petitioners in the light of a Legal Notice dated 05.06.2017 (Annexure P-4) that is stated to have already been filed and to take a final decision thereupon expeditiously and in any case within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order." Learned State counsel submits that in case decision has not been taken till now, needful shall be done at the earliest, in any case not later than one month.

COCP No. 1793 of 2018 In view of statement made by learned State counsel, petition is disposed of. In case fresh cause of action accrues to the petitioner to invoke contempt jurisdiction of this court, apart from taking action for contempt of court, this court shall consider imposition of punitive costs which shall be deducted from the salary of the officer(s) responsible for delay/noncompliance.
