JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) This Court vide order dated 06.5.2016 disposed of the writ petition bearing CWP No.8699 of 2016 filed by the petitioners, directing the respondents to withdraw the acquisition proceedings initiated vide notifications dated 15.7.2009 (P.3) and dated 16.3.2010 (P.5) issued under Section 4 & 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 respectively and passed the following directions: "In view of the above, the petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, it is directed that in case any such representation is filed by the petitioners, the same shall be decided by respondent No.5 expeditiously preferably within one month from the date of its receipt after passing a speaking order and affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, in accordance with law."

Petitioner by filing this contempt petition alleges noncompliance of the orders passed by this Court and sought for punishment of the respondent for failing to do the needful.

COCP No.1923 of 2016 #2# Upon notice, learned State counsel points out that no further action is required since the necessary relief claimed regarding release of acquired agricultural land has since been granted to the petitioners. It is further pointed out that the costs of Rs.10,000/- as ordered on the last date, has since been deposited with the High Court Lawyers Welfare Fund. A copy of receipt in this respect has been produced in court.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has not disputed the aforesaid fact.

In view of the aforesaid development, present contempt petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous and the Rule is discharged.
