JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner, who was working as Conductor with the department of Haryana Roadways, had filed CWP No.8076 of 2016 beseeching to quash the seniority list dated 11.1.2016 (P.5) issued by the Director General Haryana Roadways, Chandigarhrespondent No.1, which was disposed of by this Court vide order dated 29.4.2016 directing respondent No.2 to take a decision on the representation dated 21.1.2016 submitted by the petitioner, by passing a speaking order and after affording him opportunity of hearing, preferably within two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order.

The petitioner in the present contempt petition prays for punishing the respondents for wilful disobedience of the orders passed by this Court.

Upon notice, a short reply on behalf of respondent No.1 by way of an affidavit dated 04.1.2017 of Anita Yadav, Director

COCP No.1924 of 2016 #2# State Transport, Haryana has been filed that in compliance of the directions issued by this Court, the necessary relief has been granted to the petitioner while passing a speaking order dated 21.09.2016 (R.1). It is further stated that the costs of Rs.10,000/- has also been deposited in the account of High Court Lawyers Welfare Funds on 27.12.2016.

In response, learned counsel for the petitioner has conceded that no further action is warranted in this case. In view of the aforesaid development, present contempt petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous and the Rule is discharged.
