Jaswant Singh,J(Oral) Petitioner is a resident of Ram Nagar, Ward No.4, Street No.2, District Sri Muktsar Sahib. He is aggrieved due to collection of dirty water of houses by digging of pits by other residents of the area. For redressal of said grievance he filed CWP 20989/2016 which was disposed of vide order dated 6.10.2016 by this Court directing the Deputy Commissioner, Sri Muktsar Sahib to look into his grievance as raised in the legal notice dated 20.7.2016 with regard to the above.

Since the needful has not been done within three months the present contempt has been filed.

At the time of hearing, it is conceded that the area is covered under the jurisdiction of Municipal Council, Sri Muktsar Sahib and there is an elected body regulating the bye-laws framed for looking into the aspects of public health and safety as raised in the present contempt. It is thus conceded that Deputy Commissioner, on his own, would have no jurisdiction to take up the matter.

Dismissed.
