Petitioner-Tripta Devi,widow of deceased Chander Kant, who died in harness while working as Constable in GRP, in CWP 14654/2015 decided on 15.3.2017, was held entitled to 100% family pension payable within three months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of the order.

Alleging disobedience of said order,instant contempt was filed. Notice of motion was issued.

At the time of hearing today short reply by way of affidavit of Sh.Faisal Imam,Accountant General-respondent no.2 has been filed in Court. The same is taken on record.

As per said reply, respondent no.2 has issued necessary directions to District Treasury Officer,Amritsar to release the family pension to the petitioner as per her share and now only interest part is to be Rajinder Parshad Joshi 2018.03.21 11:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

COCP 1918/2017 paid by the Administrative Department-i.e. Respondent no.1. In response,learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Ashok Kumar 1149/GRP from the office of AIG,GRP,Punjab Patiala states that the needful shall be done within next four weeks. In view of aforesaid stand of respondents, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no.1 that the amount towards interest shall be calculated within four weeks and thereafter in the next four weeks the said amount shall be released. In case the aforesaid schedule is not adhered to in making payment of the interest, the officer concerned shall pay a sum of Rs.50,000/- as costs to the petitioner. Further, the petitioner would be free to seek revival of the instant contempt petition,if need be. Disposed of accordingly.
