JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner retired from the service of Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd on attaining the age of superannuation in the year 2007. He filed writ petition bearing CWP No.9486 of 2017, seeking directions to the respondent to release his retiral benefits and arrears of salary, which was disposed of vide order dated 04.5.2017 with a direction to decide his claim by passing a speaking order within two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order.

Upon notice, a reply dated 12.7.2018 of Addl. Superintending Engineer, PSPCL D.S Division, Sunam has been filed, paras 2 & 3 of which read as under:

"2. That there was a gross amount of arrears Rs.17,51,235/- and after deducting the tax amount Rs.360882/-, the net amount Rs.13,90,353/- has been paid to the petitioner in the month of January 2016,

COCP No.1950 of 2017 #2# leave encashment of Rs.3,23,270/- had paid in the month of June 2016, and Gratuity amount of Rs.5,42,431/- was paid in the month May 2016. The arrear of the gross pension amount of the petitioner was Rs.2903521/- and tax deductable of Rs.800000/- and the net amount of Rs.2103521/- has been paid in the month of June 2016 through the online software. Arrear of EOL period amounted to Rs.47913/- has been paid to the petitioner during May 2017. Summary payments of Sh. Jagtar Singh.

3. That currently the petitioner is withdrawing Rs.35792 as basic pension per month. Commutation pension payment of Rs.410871/- has been paid in the month of October 2017, and in total he has been paid Rs.5931328/- by the answering respondent. That all the service benefitrs had already been paid to the petitioner, nothing is due."

Learned counsel for the respondent states that since all the retiral benefits have been paid, no further action is warranted. In the light of the aforesaid stand of the respondent, the present petition stands disposed of.
