On 09.01.2024, the following order was passed by this Court:- "The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue him passport.

The petitioner was issued passport which expired on 20.10.2020. An FIR No. 103 dated 12.10.2012, under Section 18 of the NDPS Act, 1985 came to be registered against the petitioner at Police Station Sadar Nawanshehar, District SBS Nagar. The petitioner was convicted vide judgment dated 11.03.2016 and was awarded sentence of 10 years. The petitioner preferred CRA-S-2454-SB of 2016 before this Court which is still pending. The sentence of the petitioner is suspended vide order dated 18.04.2018 passed by this Court. The petitioner has filed application seeking PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2024.01.24 04:03 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No.259 of 2024 -2- 2024:PHHC:009150 passport on 16.09.2023 which is still pending. Notice of motion, returnable for 24.01.2024.

Counsel appearing for Union of India submits that as per his instructions, no application of the petitioner is pending with passport authorities. The petitioner may file a fresh application and if he opts so, it would be decided expeditiously and in accordance with law. 3.

In the wake of statement of counsel for Union of India, the petition stands disposed of.
