This matter is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing due to the outbreak of pandemic, COVID-19. The petitioner seeks step up of his pay w.e.f. 10.03.2012 at par with respondent no.3, claimed to be his junior, especially in view of order dated 21.11.2019 (Annexure P-8), passed pursuant to decision dated 22.08.2019 of this High Court in CWP-22404-2019, titled 'Rohit Garg and others Vs. State of Punjab and others'.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite service of legal notice dated 16.07.2020 (Annexure P-7), respondent-authorities are not taking any action on the petitioner's claim. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer for a decision on the legal notice dated 16.07.2020 (Annexure P-7), in a time bound manner.

Mr. Ayush Sarna, Asst. A.G., Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. Advance copy of the writ petition stands served. Learned counsel for the State does not raise any serious objection to the limited prayer addressed by the petitioner.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of this case, but without any expression of opinion on the merits of the matter, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to consider and decide legal notice dated 16.07.2020 (Annexure P-7), within a period of three months from receipt of certified copy of this order by passing a speaking order.

Petition is disposed of accordingly.
