NIRMALJIT KAUR, J. (ORAL) The contempt petition is filed for non-compliance of the order dated 23.02.2016 whereby a direction was issued to treat the suspension period of the petitioner as duty period and thereafter release the full pay and allowances for the said period.

Short reply by way of affidavit has been filed. As per the reply, the suspension period has been duly considered as duty period for all intents and purpose including balance pay and allowances of the suspension period and have been ordered to be released subject to the decision of LPA vide order dated 07.12.2018. Order has also been placed on record alongwith the reply.

In this view of the matter, no useful purpose would be served in continuing with the contempt petition. The same is hereby dismissed. The rule issued against the respondent(s) stands discharged. January 10, 2019 ( NIRMALJIT KAUR ) meenuss JUDGE 1.
