(ORAL) The contempt petition has been filed for non-compliance of the order dated 13.06.2016 vide which respondent No.1 was directed to decide the representation, dated 05.05.2015, filed by the petitioner and dispose of the same within two months from the date of the order. A detailed reply has been filed stating therein that action has been taken in pursuance to the representation. In fact, two FIRs, i.e. FIR No.24 dated 12.04.2015 under Sections 420, 379, 406, 427, 500, 34 IPC and FIR No.109, dated 2.12.2016 under Sections 406, 420, 120-B IPC, both registered at Police Station Kot Fatta, District Bathinda have been investigated by Special Investigating Team. COCP-2393-2016 (O&M) -2Police Station State Crime, SAS Nagar, who is also one of the member of the Special Investigating Team, is present in Court. On his instructions, learned State counsel states that in pursuance of the investigation, they shall be filing cancellation in aforementioned FIR No.24 and challan shall be filed against the accused persons in FIR No.109 within two weeks. In this view of the matter, no useful purpose would be served in continuing with the contempt petition. The same is hereby dismissed. The rule issued against the respondent(s) stands discharged.
