Mr. Aditya Sharda, AAG, Punjab, present in court, accepts notice on behalf of the State.

Petitioner alleges violation of order dated 17.01.2017 passed by the writ court. Operative part thereof reads as under:- "In the circumstances, without issuing notice to the respondents, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents, to decide the legal notice dated 28.05.2016 (Annexure P-2) of the petitioner. It is ordered that if it is found that the petitioner is entitled to the said benefit as claimed by him, the same be released forthwith and if the said benefit is denied to the petitioner, speaking order shall be passed within two months from the date of certified copy of this order."

Learned State counsel submits that in case, there is no appeal pending against the order passed by the writ court, decision shall be taken at the earliest.

In view of statement made by learned State counsel, no further direction is required. In case, no steps are taken and petitioner has to invoke the jurisdiction of this court again, this court shall consider imposition of exemplary costs which shall be deducted from the salary of the officials responsible for delay/non-compliance.
