MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition is to call the status report from respondents No.2 to 5 in complaint dated 06.12.2024 submitted by the petitioner against respondents No.6 to 9.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a complaint was given on 06.12.2024 (Annexure P-3) to the police authorities, however, it had failed to yield any response. It has been submitted that the official respondents were under a legal obligation to pass an appropriate order on his complaint. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if directions are issued to respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Rupnagar, to look into the complaint dated 06.12.2024 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

In the wake of the limited prayer of the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of and respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Rupnagar, is directed to look into the grievance of the petitioner and take appropriate steps, if any required, under the provisions of law. However, if respondent No.2 does not find any substance in the allegations levelled in the complaint dated 06.12.2024 (Annexure P-3), then the petitioner shall be duly informed as per the parameters laid down by the Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari Versus Government of Uttar Pradesh & Ors. 2013 (4) RCR (Criminal) 979.
