In the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, at Chandigarh Civil Writ Petition No. 316 of 2023 Date of Decision: 09.01.2023 Paramjeet Singh and Another ... Petitioner(s)

Versus

State of Punjab and Others ... Respondent(s) CORAM: Hon'ble Mr. Justice Anil Kshetarpal.

Present:

Mr. Barjesh Mittal, Advocate for the petitioner(s).

Mr. Charanpreet Singh, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab.

1.

The petitioners pray for a writ of certiorari to quash the recruitment notice issued by the Punjab Public Services Commission on 11.11.2022. The petitioners claim that they are eligible for selection from the Register A-II of the Punjab Civil Services (Executive Branch) Rules, 1976. 2.

The grievance of the petitioners is that while issuing the recruitment notice, the respondents have failed to assign the number of posts which were meant for the reserved category candidates. The learned counsel representing the petitioners has drawn the attention of this Court to the minutes of the meeting held on 11.08.2022 under the Chairmanship of the Hon'ble Chief Minister.

3.

It is not in dispute that the petitioners can apply pursuant to the issuance of the recruitment notice. There is no data to prove the number of vacancies meant for the reserved category candidates. 4.
