(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus directing respondents No. 2 and 3 to get dentenue-Rekha Rani, daughter of the petitioner, aged 15 years, released from the illegal custody of respondent Nos. 4 to 9.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on 21/22.12.2020, the private respondents have kidnapped the daughter of the petitioner by enticing her on the pretext of marriage and have illegally detained her. He further submits that the petitioner has made a representation to the local police authorities on 24.12.2020 but no action has been taken on the same, though he is the lawful guardian of the minor.

CRWP No. 201 of 2021 -2Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State. Learned State counsel, on instructions of ASI Karamjit Singh, submits that FIR No. 02 dated 06.1.2021 under Sections 363, 366-A and 120-B IPC, Police Station Makhoo, District Ferozepur has been registered against respondents No. 4 to 6.

Keeping in view the above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petition has become infructuous and the same may be disposed of accordingly.
