Satwinder Singh v. Pushpinderpal Garg And ORS.
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH COCP No. 2823 of 2016 (O&M) Date of decision : 23.03.2017 Satwinder Singh ....Petitioner V/s Pushpinderpal Garg & ors.
....Respondents BEFORE : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJAN GUPTA
Present:
Mr. H.S. Dhandi, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. V. Ramswaroop, Addl. A.G. Punjab.

Petitioner filed a writ petition challenging his transfer from Patiala to Shahpur Kandi, District Hoshiarpur. At the time of issuance of notice of motion, this court directed that status quo be maintained till the next date of hearing. Petitioner, however, alleges that State violated the order forcing him to invoke contempt jurisdiction of the court. Admittedly by now writ petition has been disposed of. Petitioner has been posted back in Patiala district. In my considered view, further proceedings need to be dropped. As grievance of the petitioner has been redressed, this petition is accordingly disposed of as having been rendered infructuous. Rule is discharged.
