Petitioner-Bar Association Ajnala approached this Court by way of CWP 21158/2016 alleging non-decision by respondents therein (State of Punjab) on its representation dated 14.3.2016 relating to release of matching grant of Rs.50 lacs for construction of chambers etc.
The said writ petition was disposed of vide order dated 7.10.2016 with a direction to respondent to look into the matter, consider the grievance raised in representation dated 14.3.2016 and decide the same in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. At the time of hearing today, learned Deputy Advocate General,Punjab states that the present contempt petition has been rendered infructuous as necessary action has already been taken on the representation dated 14.3.2016 moved by the petitioner-Association. In support, he has produced a copy of order dated 1.3.2017 passed in this regard. The same is taken on record.
A perusal of the order dated 1.3.2017 reveals that representation dated 14.3.2016 has been considered by the authorities concerned and decision taken thereon regarding releasing grant of Rs.50 lacs for construction of lawyer's chambers,Ajnala. Dismissed as infructuous.
