JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner being dependent/family member of one of the land owners, whose land was acquired for construction of Ranjit Sagar Dam Project, had filed CWP No.3216 of 2016 seeking direction to provide him employment as per Policy dated 08.11.1993 read with policy dated 22.7.1996, which was disposed of by this Court on 19.9.2012 (P.1), directing the respondent Authorities to consider his claim and decide the legal notice dated 07.8.2012 (P.10), in accordance with law by passing a speaking order within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order.

The petitioner has filed this contempt petition for the needful having not been done.

COCP No.3216 of 2016 #2# Upon notice, short reply by way of affidavit dated 08.3.2017 on behalf of respondent No.3 has been filed stating that in compliance of the order, a speaking order dated 21.2.2017 (R.3) has been passed thereby rendering the present petition as infructuous.

In view of aforesaid, the contempt petition is dismissed as infructuous and the rule is discharged. However, the petitioner is given liberty to challenge the speaking order (R.3), if so desired, in accordance with law.
