CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAKESH KUMAR JAIN.

Present:

Mr. Ajay Chaudhary, Advocate, for the petitioners.

Mr. P.P. Chahar, DAG, Haryana.

RAKESH KUMAR JAIN, J. (ORAL) Reply on behalf of the respondents, by way of affidavit of Shri Shakti Singh, Division Forest Officer, Bhiwani, has been filed in the Court today, which is taken on record and a copy is given to learned counsel for the petitioners.

Admittedly, the writ petition filed by the petitioners was disposed of in terms of an order, dated 7.5.2015, passed in CWP No. 9873 of 2013 (Raj Kumar v. State of Haryana and others) and other connected petitions. Perusal of the order dated 7.5.2015 reveals that the said bunch of cases, i.e. CWP No. 9873 of 2013 and connected petitions, was disposed of in terms of the judgment passed in the matter of Khajjan Singh and others v. State of Haryana and others (CWP No. 10017 of 2011, decided on 28.5.2014) and 19 connected writ petitions.

Learned counsel for the State has submitted that the judgment passed in Khajjan Singh's case (supra) was initially challenged in Letters Patent Appeal(s) and eventually assailed before Hon'ble the Supreme Court. COCP-3234-2015 (O&M) He further submits that in the meantime various contempt petitions were filed before this Court. Now, while hearing the Special Leave to Appeals, bearing CC Nos. 5179-5188 of 2016, titled as State of Haryana and others v. Khajjan Singh and others etc. etc., Hon'ble the Supreme Court has stayed the contempt proceedings before the High Court, vide order dated 8.4.2016 (Annexure R-1).

In view of above, the present petition has been rendered infructuous at this stage.

Ordered accordingly.

Rule discharged.
