Present:

Mr. G.S. Bhatia, Advocate for the petitioner. JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner is stated to have received injuries at the hands of Sadhu Singh son of Rattan Singh and his family members in an incident occurred on 09.7.2016. It is alleged that in the medicolegal report, the injuries were found to be grievous in nature. Since the SHO concerned was not registering the FIR inspite of a cognizable offence having been committed, the petitioner moved representation dated 04.8.2016 before the SSP, Amritsar (Rural).

In the petition bearing CRM-M-35364 of 2016 filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C by the petitioner along with one Rattan Singh seeking protection of life and liberty, this Court vide order dated 03.10.2016 directed the SSP concerned to look into the matter and take appropriate action, if warranted, within three months.

Since no communication, in the aforesaid respect, has

COCP No.322 of 2017 #2# been received by the petitioner, present contempt petition has been filed.

After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner prays for withdrawal of this petition with liberty to avail his remedy under Section 156 (3) Cr.P.C or filing a private complaint as the case may be.
