**** SANJAY VASHISTH , J. (Oral) By way of present petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, petitioner is seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus, for directing respondents No.2 to 4, to provide police protection/security to the petitioner at the hands of gangster of Punjab, who are threatening to kill the petitioner, on his arrival to India, as presently petitioner is living in Canada, and is coming to India on 11.01.2023. On advance notice to the State of Punjab, Mr. J.S. Arora, DAG, Punjab, points out that in the recent past also petitioner approached this Court for seeking similar relief by way of CRWP-12080-2022, and said petition was dismissed as withdrawn vide order dated 22.12.2022. Order dated 22.12.2022 says as under:- "This petition is filed seeking directions to respondents No.

2 to 4 for providing police protection security to the petitioner and for protecting the life and liberty from the gangster of Punjab. Learned counsel for petitioner after arguing the case for some time and realising that the petitioner has not even approached the authorities concerned, seeks permission to JAWALA RAM 2023.01.11 16:17 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgement.

CRWP-214-2023 - 2 - withdraw the present petition with liberty to avail remedies in accordance with law.

Dismissed as withdrawn with liberty as prayed for." When this Court asked the petitioner as to whether any complaint was moved to any authority or Indian Embassy by the petitioner, after receiving threats while staying at Canada, Mr. Thiara, learned counsel for the petitioner is unable to answer the same, and therefore, seeks withdrawal of present petition.

Dismissed as withdrawn.
