The petitioner claims that he was merely a witness to an agreement to sell between one Ramandeep Singh (vendor) and Surjit Singh (proposed vendee) with regard to sale of 50 acres of land. ComplainantSurjit Singh had filed a criminal complaint qua cheating etc., on finding that Ramandeep Singh is not owner of the property wherein petitioner has also been roped in as an accused.

Petitioner had filed CRM-M 33644/2017 seeking protection to his life and liberty apprehending threat from Surjit Singh and party. The said petition was disposed of by this Court vide order dated 13.9.2017 directing the police authorities to look into the representation of the petitioner. Since no proper investigation had allegedly been conducted hence the present contempt petition.

COCP 3231/2017 (O&M) Mr.Gurpreet Singh,DSP Headquarter, Nawanshahar states that FIR No.141 dated 6.10.2017 for offences under Sections 420,465,468,471,120-B IPC was registered at PS Balachaur and during investigation the role of the petitioner as conniving with the main accused Ramandeep Singh has emerged and therefore, the petitioner has also been arrested. In view of the aforesaid developments, no further action is warranted in the present contempt petition.

Dismissed.
