*** Report of the Warrant Officer received, in terms of which Kanwaljit Kaur, Prabhjeet Kaur and Nirvail Singh were not found to be in illegal detention of the police.
Short reply by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police Sub-Division Majitha, District Amritsar (Rural) has been filed. It is contended that Amarjit Singh son of the alleged detenue Kanwaljit Kaur has got a criminal record inasmuch as he is involved in several criminal cases and is absconding to avoid his arrest. The local police has conducted raids on his house to apprehend him but he could not be nabbed. Family members of Amarjit Singh were asked to produce him before the police but no member of his family was brought to Police Station, Majitha. As far as Swift Car bearing registration number PB02-DN-4149 found parked in the premises of Police Station Majitha, Amritsar Rural, he main gate of Police PARVINDER SINGH 2020.01.22 15:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
CRWP No. 214 of 2020 Station remains open for 24 hours. The offices of Sanjh Kendra, Out Reach Center are situated within the premises of Police Station Majitha and the vehicle of 108 Helpline also remains parked in the premises there, hence many people park their vehicle in the boundary of Police Station Majitha. As such, Jagroop Singh Sarpnach of village Loharanwali, Police Station Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur had parked the said car near the boundary of Police Station Majitha since it had gone out of order. Jagroop Singh has since received the car on 9.1.2020 and has produced his self declaration, copy of which has been attached.
There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. In view of the report of Warrant Officer and reply filed, no further action in the matter is called for.
The petition stands dismissed accordingly.
