On the asking of the Court, Mr. Harsimran Singh Sethi, Addl.A.G., Punjab, present in court, accepts notice. Petitioner alleges violation of order dated 08.08.2016, Annexure P-1, passed by the writ court. Operative part thereof reads as under:- "Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and without expressing any opinion on the merits of case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Executive Engineer, SNE Civil Division, Hoshiarpur respondent No.4, to look into the matter, consider the grievance of the petitioner raised vide his representation dated 26.5.2016 (Annexure P-2) and decide the same at an early date, by passing an appropriate order thereon, strictly in accordance with law, but in any case within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

With the above-said observations made and directions issued, the present writ petition stands disposed of."

Learned State counsel, at the outset, submits that in case needful has not been done already, appropriate steps shall be taken forthwith, in any case, not later than one month.

In view of statement made by learned State counsel, no further direction is necessary. In case, any fresh cause of action accrues to the petitioners to invoke contempt jurisdiction of the court, apart from initiating proceedings under the Act, it shall also impose exemplary costs, which shall be deducted from the salary of the officers responsible for delay/noncompliance. Disposed of.
