CHANDIGARH CWP No. 12854 of 2003 Date of decision: 02.08.2016 Harbir Singh Gill ....Petitioner(s)

Versus

Punjab Technical University and another

...Respondent(s)

CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE G.S.SANDHAWALIA

Present:

None for the parties.

G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioner seeks directions to the respondents to give appropriate opportunity to the petitioner to appear in the second counseling pertaining to seat meant for 50% seats reserved for minority Sikh candidate relating to rural area candidates in the Electronics Branch of College as per his merit in CET-2003.

The petitioner was not given any such interim benefit and the only direction issued on 18.08.2003 was that the respondents would not fill one seat in the Electronics branch. Vide order dated 23.07.2004, respondent no. 2-college had stated that the seat was lying vacant in the second year and the seat would be offered to the petitioner as and when he approaches the respondent-college. Resultantly,. C.M. No. 10953 of 2004 was disposed of as infructuous.

Today, none has put in appearance. It is apparent that the petitioner would have got necessary relief and he is not interested in pursuing the present writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed for want of prosecution.
