The prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondents to grant the pay scale one step higher than that of Clerks and Junior Assistants.

Learned Senior counsel submits that regarding the claim as raised in the present petition, a legal notice dated 19.11.2024 Annexure P-20, has been served, however, the same has yet not evoked any response. Reliance is placed on the judgments passed by this Court in Jang Bahadur Singh and Others vs. State of Punjab and Others, CWP-178-2019, decided on 23.05.2024 and Kulwinder Kaur and Others vs. State of Punjab and Others, CWP-20368-2021, decided on 11.12.2024. He thus, on instructions prays that a direction may be given to the respondents to decide the same keeping in view of the aforesaid judgments, in a time bound manner, to which learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made.

In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the MOHIT 2025.02.17 16:52 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the legal notice dated 19.11.2024, taking note of the aforesaid judgments, within a period of 6 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to them and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to their interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioners shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon !" " # $ %
