1. The petitioners have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to be issued to the authorities concerned to permit the petitioners to have a meeting with convict-Rampal who is serving sentence in Central Jail-2, Hisar, in connection with FIR No. 429 dated 19.11.2014, Police Station Barwala, District Hisar, under Sections 302, 343 and 34 IPC.

2. When the matter was taken up for preliminary hearing on 30.01.2024, the following order was passed:- "The petitioners seeks issuance of directions to respondent No.4 - Superintendent of Jail, Central Jail-2, Hisar, District Hisar, so as to permit the petitioners to meet convict Rampal, who is lodged in Central Jail-2, Hisar, District Hisar in connection with FIR No.429, dated 19.11.2014 registered at Police Station Barwala, MOHAN SINGH 2024.02.07 01:25 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

Notice of motion for 6.2.2024.

At this stage, Mr. Munish Sharma, DAG, Haryana, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. Ms. Amrita Garg, Advocate has represented that she has been authorised to appear in the matter on behalf of the convict in question i.e. Rampal and that she has specific and clear instructions to the effect that convict Rampal does not wish to meet the petitioners, who are not even related to him. Learned counsel has filed a scanned copy of Vakalatnama and has stated that the original Vakalatnama shall be filed within a period of 1 week from today. The aforesaid scanned copy of Vakalatnama is taken on record."

3. Pursuant to the aforesaid order dated 30.01.2024, learned counsel representing convict-Rampal has already filed the original vakalatnama in the Registry, as has been reported by the Office. Learned counsel representing the convict has today filed a photocopy of statement of convict Rampal wherein he has categorically stated that he does not wish to meet the petitioners.

4. In view of the aforestated position, no directions are required to be issued in the petition.
