A writ petition was filed by the petitioner for issuance of directions to the respondents to give proficiency step-up increment after completion of 14 years of service. The writ petition was allowed on 10.01.2017 ordering that revised pay and pension would be paid within three months from receipt of certified copy of the order. The petitioner was held entitled to interest @ 9% per annum from the date of filing of the writ petition.

Pursuant to notice of motion, reply dated 06.07.2018 was filed stating that retiral benefits have been granted to the petitioner alongwith interest.

COCP No.34 of 2018 -2Learned counsel for the petitioner states that reply filed is not indicating details of the retiral benefits. He further argues that interest has wrongly been calculated.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from Mr. Kamaljit Singh, Sr. Assistant, Water Resources Department, states that in case petitioner moves a representation alongwith detailed calculation, same would be decided expeditiously and amount, if found due, shall be paid immediately thereafter. The contempt petition is disposed of.

Let petitioner file a representation with regard to difference of retiral benefits and calculation of interest within two weeks. In case needful is done, respondents will deal with the representation within four weeks thereafter, after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
