The case of the petitioner for premature release after having undergone more than 14 years of sentence for a conviction under Section 302 IPC was directed to be decided in terms of the policy dated 8.7.1991. At the time of hearing,counsel for the petitioner submits that the petition has become infructuous as since then a speaking order dated 12.1.2018 rejecting the claim has been passed. Dismissed as infructuous.

However, petitioner is free to challenge the same in accordance with law.
