Petitioner, who retired as Superintending Engineer (Civil) on attaining the age of superannuation on November 30.2016, filed CWP 24586/2017 seeking a writ of mandamus directing respondents to release his gratuity.

The said writ petition was disposed of vide order dated 31.10.2017 with a direction to respondents to release the gratuity to the petitioner within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order alongwith interest @ 9% per annum after the expiry of three months from the date of retirement till its actual payment. Alleging disobedience of said direction, instant contempt was filed.

Notice of motion was issued.

At the time of hearing today, Mr.Indresh Goel,Addl.AG Haryana has filed compliance report dated 17.3.2018 stating therein that an Rajinder Parshad Joshi 2018.03.21 11:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

COCP 348/2018 amount of Rs.20,78,027/- including interest amount of Rs.1,78,027/- stands paid into the account of the petitioner on 17.3.2018 and thus order dated 31.10.2017 passed by this Court stands complied with. In view of the compliance report,learned counsel for the petitioner concedes that the instant contempt petition has been rendered infructuous.

Disposed of accordingly.
