*** Sudhir Mittal, J. (Oral) The petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.106 dated 02.04.2020 registered at Police Station Bhuna, District Fatehabad, under Sections 148, 149, 188, 294, 323, 452 and 506 IPC, and Section 307 IPC added later on, on the basis of compromise.

In this case, the complainant has received an injury on the backside of his head resulting in fracture of the skull. This is a grievous injury and may be fatal. Under the circumstances, it cannot be said that Section 307 IPC has been added at later stage just for the sake of making the crime alleged to have been committed more serious. Moreover, the compromise has been reached more than two and a half years after the date of the incident. The parties are also not closely related and, thus, the FIR cannot be quashed on the basis of compromise. The petition is dismissed.
