AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-1770-2021 Decided on : 19.01.2021 Dinesh . . . Petitioner

Versus

State of Haryana . . . Respondent CORAM: HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE MANJARI NEHRU KAUL (Through Video Conferencing) PRESENT: Mr. Manish Jain, Advocate for the petitioner.

Mr. Rajiv Goel, DAG, Haryana assisted by SI Anandpal.

**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) The instant petitioner has been filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 97, dated 01.05.20218, under Sections 302, 307, 201, 34 IPC, registered at Police Station Tigaon, Faridabad.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner has been in custody since 04th May, 2018 and the trial has not yet concluded. Hence, a prayer has been made for grant of regular bail to the petitioner. Per contra, learned State counsel while opposing the prayer and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions from SI Anandpal, has submitted that 22 out of the 25 prosecution witnesses cited, have been examined so far. Hence, the trial is nearing completion. Heard.

No ground is made out to extend the concession of regular bail to the petitioner, since the prosecution evidence is likely to conclude very shortly. However, keeping in view the fact that the petitioner has been in custody for JAWALA RAM 2021.01.19 17:03 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

CRM-M-1770-2021 - 2 - almost 02 yeas and 09 months, this Court deems it fit to direct the trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same expeditiously, preferably, within the next six months.

Petition stands dismissed.
