On the asking of the Court, Ms. Lavanya Paul, AAG, Punjab, present in court, accepts notice.

Petitioners allege violation of order dated 23.02.2017, passed by the writ court. Operative part thereof reads as under:- "Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of with the direction to the Competent Authority to decide the claims of the petitioners as set out in the legal notice (P-10) and the present writ petition by passing a speaking order within six months from the receipt of certified copy of the order alongwith the copy of the writ petition. The admissible monetary benefits shall thereafter be released within next three months."

Present petition is disposed of with the direction that, in case, legal notice submitted by the petitioners is still pending, decision thereon be taken at the earliest, in any case, not later than one month. In case, any fresh cause of action accrues to the petitioners to invoke contempt jurisdiction of this court, apart from initiating proceedings under the Act, this court shall consider imposition of punitive costs, which shall be deducted from the salary of the officials responsible for delay/non-compliance. Disposed of.
