Court On Its Own Motion v. Sanjeev Gill S/O Raj Kumar R/O Mission Compound, Gurdaspur
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB & HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH COCP No. 782 of 2015 (O&M) Date of Decision: 14.3.2016 Court on its own motion --Petitioner
Versus
Sanjeev Gill --Respondent CORAM:- HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE TEJINDER SINGH DHINDSA. Present:- Mr. D.S. Virk, A.A.G., Punjab.
Mr. Sandeep Arora, Advocate for the respondent. *** TEJINDER SINGH DHINDSA.J Proceedings in the present petition were initiated against the backdrop that Sanjeev Gill/respondent inspite of having been insulated with an order of interim protection as regards arrest, had not joined investigation. To secure presence of respondent Sanjeev Gill, non-bailable warrants were even issued on 7.4.2015, returnable for 26.5.2015. On the date of resumed hearing i.e. 26.5.2015, it was noticed by this Court that since Sanjeev Gill had already surrendered, the purpose of passing orders issuing non-bailable warrants against him already stood satisfied and no further order was required to be passed and Sanjeev Gill/respondent was left to the process of law. During the course of arguments today, it has gone uncontroverted that Sanjeev Gill has thereafter been granted benefit of regular bail.
No further orders are required to be passed in the instant contempt petition. The same is, accordingly, disposed of. Rule discharged.
