NIRMALJIT KAUR, J. (ORAL) The contempt petition is filed for non-compliance of the order dated 19.12.2016, vide which a direction was issued to decide the legal notice issued by the petitioner.

Learned State counsel has placed on record the letter dated 04.04.2019 addressed to Advocate General Haryana stating therein that 72 cases have been held to be in illegal possession and eviction orders have also been issued and qua 20 out of 72 cases, warrants of possession were issued on 01.04.2019.

In this view of the matter, no useful purpose would be served in continuing with the contempt petition. The same is hereby dismissed. The rule issued against the respondent(s) stands discharged. However, in case the respondent does not take the said speaking order to its logical conclusion vide which 72 persons have been found to have encroached, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh contempt petition.
