It is claimed that land of the petitioners measuring 1 kanal 2 marlas situated in Village Khooni Majra, Hadbast No.187, Tehsil Kharar, District Mohali was utilised by the Railways Department for setting up Chandigarh-Ludhiana (Broad Gauge) railway line without acquisition or payment of compensation.

CWP 5986/2014 filed by the petitioners was disposed of vide order dated 21.5.2015 directing the authorities to pass a speaking order on the legal notice dated 13.8.2013 issued by the petitioners claiming damages. Since no order has been passed hence the present contempt petition. On the previous date the petitioners were directed to file an affidavit detailing the entire facts qua utilization of land. At the time of resumed hearing today, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for permission to withdraw the instant contempt petition. Dismissed as withdrawn.
