JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner has sought for initiation of contempt proceedings in view of the alleged non-compliance of the directions issued by this Court vide order dated 15.12.2015 passed in CWP No.21204 of 2014.

The petitioner after his retirement on 30.09.2005 from the rank of Inspector, Cooperative Societies, Samana, District Patiala was convicted inter alia for the offence under Sections 304-B and 498-A IPC and sentenced to undergo RI for seven years with fine. Resultantly, an order imposing 100% cut in the pension, by invoking powers under Rule 2.2(a) of the Punjab Civil Services, Volume II Part II, was passed. The same was challenged by the petitioner by filing writ petition bearing CWP No.21204 of 2014, which was disposed of vide order dated 15.12.2015 directing the respondents to pass a fresh order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. Since no such order was passed within the stipulated

COCP No.959 of 2016 #2# time, the present contempt petition was filed. Upon notice, reply has been filed, wherein it is stated that an order dated 09.7.2016 (R.1) in terms of the aforesaid directions has since been passed. The delay in passing the same is explained and regretted.

In view of the above, the order is substantially complied with and therefore, no cause for maintaining the present contempt petition is made out.

Dismissed.
