JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner stands retired from the rank of Librarian with the Government College of Arts, Chandigarh. His claim for grant of the revised pay scale of Rs.2200-4000/- w.e.f 01.01.1986 was declined by the learned Tribunal vide order dated 30.6.1997. In the writ petition bearing CWP No.9858 of 1997 filed by the petitioner challenging the order dated 30.6.1997 passed by the Tribunal, learned Division Bench vide order dated 18.5.2015, while partly allowing the writ petition and setting aside the portion of the order passed by the Tribunal, proceeded to hold that the petitioner was entitled to re-fixation of his pension and retiral benefits in the corresponding revised pay scale at the relevant time of retirement. The consequential monetary benefits were

COCP No.980 of 2016 (O&M) #2# ordered to be released along with 7% interest within four months from the date of order.

At the time of hearing today, learned counsel for the respondent points out that the present petition has become infructuous since the order dated 18.5.2015, as sought to be complied with in the present contempt petition itself has undergone review in the subsequent review petition. Dismissed as having been rendered infructuous and the rule is discharged.
