**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed under Section 438 Cr.P.C., for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, in case FIR No. 149, dated 13.12.2019, under Sections 498-A, 354, 323, 506, 34 of IPC, registered at Police Station Longowal.

As per report received from the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court, to which the parties were referred to, the parties have failed to arrive at an amicable settlement.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it is essentially a matrimonial dispute between the parties, which has resulted in the registration of the FIR in question, wherein, false allegations have been levelled against the petitioner and his family of subjecting the complainant to physical and mental harassment on account of insufficient dowry received at the time of marriage. Further submits that pursuant to order dated 14th January, 2020, passed by this Court, the petitioner has joined investigation.
