Heard through video conferencing.

Prayer in the present criminal writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to the official respondent Nos.1 and 2 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that respondent Nos.3 to 5, who are the neighbours of the petitioner, are allegedly involved in illegal activities and they have openly attacked the petitioner and her family members and are threatening to kill them. In this regard, numerous representations have been made to respondent No.1, the latest complaint/representation/application having been sent on dated 07.01.2022 (Annexure P-3), however, no action has been taken so far. The counsel for the petitioner would further contend that she limits her prayer in the present petition and would be satisfied at this stage if directions are YOGESH SHARMA 2022.01.15 09:00 I attest to the accuracy of this order.

CRWP-349-2022(O&M) -2issued to the official respondents for deciding/taking action on the said complaints/representations/applications moved by the petitioner in a timebound manner, in accordance with law. Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. H.S. Multani, AAG Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent Nos.1 and 2-State. Since the matter is not being decided on merits, the service on other respondents is dispensed with at this stage.

Heard learned counsel for the parties.

In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed off with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar - respondent No.1 - to decide/take necessary action on the complaints/representations/applications dated 23.04.2021 (Annexure P-1), 23.12.2021 (Annexure P-2) and 07.01.2022 (Annexure P-3) moved by the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of fifteen days from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Further, respondent No.2 shall ensure the safety and security of the petitioner and her family members till a decision is taken on the said representations.

Disposed off.
