SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J (ORAL) Prayer in the present petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.146, dated 23.10.2022 (Annexure P-1), under Sections 420, 465, 506, 120-B, 34 of the IPC, registered at Police Station Dayalpura, District Bathinda.

A perusal of the FIR makes it quite apparent that the role of the petitioner-Makhan Singh is with regard to extortion of money to the tune of Rs.17 lacs, out of which admittedly Rs.5 lacs have been accepted as surety cheque as is the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner himself.

Notice of motion.

On the asking of Court, Mr. Rajiv Verma, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and submits on instructions from ASI Kuldeep Singh, that the allegations qua the petitioner are not only limited regarding extracting money on the pretext of sending the complainant abroad POONAM NEGI 2023.01.25 17:43 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document.

CRM-M-2311-2023 -2but he is also guilty of creating forged Visa as well as the documents for Canada. In these circumstances, this Court after having perused the allegations, which are specific in nature against the petitioner and looking at the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner i.e., forging Visa on the pretext of sending the complainant abroad as prima facie, material offence for the commission of offence is yet to be collected by the Investigating Agency and custodial interrogation is also required for the same. In view of the aforesaid discussion, the present petition is dismissed.
